Congradulations. University life should be fun. Don't get too much into the whole 'scene.' If you do, you might find yourself in a jam when mid-terms or finals come rolling around. Study hard and everyday for at least 20min for every class if you can help it. I wish you the best of luck.

LOL, no I'm not really sure what to do yet. Maybe I''ll jump ship and do public health? It seems more intresting now that we have all these new viruses and syndromes.

Crazy! Congrats... You might even finish before I do. Gawd, this is a long time to be going to school. I should have been a doctor... I would be making real money
BUt working isn't about the money. You can never get someone to work if it is just about the money. You have to provide a good working experience, or they just quit.

I was given a scholarship to attend medical school as a human communication major at the University of Arizona. The thing is I would have had to switch universities and forfit my current scholorship. I didn't go because I was getting a full ride where I was and they were only providing $3,000 a semester. That is nothing! Hello! Textbooks! Rent! Food! Computer! Life!
I thought to go into the medical field after that but after a lot of prayer and thinking I realized that if I go that path I would become obsessive over my work. I would never have time for family and home because my family would be those I served and my home would be in the nurses lounge. I need to be in a field where I enjoy what I do and have time for family and home.

Not true, I have a cuz who is a nurse and she still has the time to enjoy with her family. The way I see it as a bystander is not to have the frame of mind that comes with obsessing over your work. Enter the field but remember that it is work nothing more.
